Temperatures drop more in the Northern Hemisphere

• We charted temperatures by real latitude to demonstrate that temperatures drop more with distance from the equator in northern latitudes.
• Measurements were obtained during January, when the northernmost cities are coldest.
• There were more cities with measurements in the northernmost extremes.
• The northernmost cities were also more likely to be in darkness, exacerbating temperature drops.
